The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts, London

Conceived by Prof. Keith Critchlow at the Royal College of Art in London nearly 30 years ago, the Princeʼs School of Traditional Arts became one of the core charities of HRH The Prince of Wales in 2004. The support offered by the A. G. Leventis Foundation since 2009 for the research and practice of the Christian liturgical arts at the Prince᾽s School coincides with the vision of HRH The Prince of Wales to create a centre of excellence for the study of Christian iconography. The scholarships offered by the A. G. Leventis Foundation have helped the School further its aims of identifying artist-researchers whose work promotes sacred and traditional art forms, safeguarding the knowledge and skill that is held by the practitioners of these arts for the benefit of new generations. Research conducted at postgraduate level informs a wider programme providing tuition to the public through both short courses and a diploma course; support offered to practising artist-researchers has resulted in an increase in interest in Christian iconography as a living, developing tradition.
