Leventis Research Fellowship at Merton College, Oxford

The Foundation has been associated with Merton College began in 1991, when the first Leventis Senior Scholarship in Greek Studies was awarded. From 2009, the programme was re-titled the Leventis Research Fellowship to reflect more accurately its scope and purpose. These funds support research into any pertinent aspect of Ancient Greek culture and civilisation from Bronze Age to AD 1453 and are no longer restricted only to Modern Greek speakers. It is intended for scholars who have done no more than two years of post-graduate study or research. With this support, the Foundation hopes to keep the study and research of Ancient Greece at the forefront of Oxford’s achievements. A new five-year commitment to the college was undertaken in 2021.
