A. G. Leventis postgraduate scholarships in Hellenic Studies, Trinity College Dublin
Through the support of the A. G. Leventis Foundation, the Department of Classics, Trinity College Dublin has been able to offer two awards for postgraduate research in any area of Hellenic Studies. Founded in 1592, Trinity has a tradition of scholarship spanning over 400 years, and is ranked in the top 25 oldest universities globally. Within Trinity, Classics has a long and distinguished history, numbering Oscar Wilde among its past famous students. The holders of Trinity’s A. G. Leventis postgraduate scholarships are Cypriot researcher Constantina Alexandrou, whose PhD topic is An Analysis of the Late Cypriot II-IIIA Base Ring Ware Anthropomorphic Figurines, and Simone Zimmermann, who is Spanish and working on Midwives of Eileithyia: An Analysis of Women’s Ritual Pharmacological Lore in Minoan Crete. The scholarships provide invaluable support for the Department of Classics’ commitment to enhancing its vibrant international community of postgraduate researchers.
