Pharos Arts Foundation, Cyprus
The Cyprus-based Pharos Arts Foundation (PAF) is a non-profit cultural and educational organisation that promotes a wide range of activities in the humanities and the arts. In 2013, PAF organised concerts by such world-renowned musicians as pianists Nareh Arghamanyan, Robin Green, Javier Perianes and Matan Porat, violinist Hyeyoon Park, flutist Ana de la Vega, the Camerata Crucianorum, recorder player Michala Petri and harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani, as well as the talented Cypriot percussionist Marios Nicolaou. The season culminated with the 13th International Pharos Chamber Music Festival, which featured 20 illustrious musicians from all over the world, including the famous virtuoso trumpeter Sergei Nakariakov and French cellist Marc Coppey. All musicians participating in PAF’s 2013 programme are simultaneously involved in educational activities designed by PAF for Cypriot students of elementary, secondary and university education, as well as for individuals with special needs.
