Anahuac University, Mexico – Chair of Cyprus

The A. G. Leventis – Anahuac Chair of Cyprus was established in 2011 in order to promote the study of Cypriot culture, history and traditions in Mexico through academic research, cultural events and publications. Several events and activities have been organised, including: the visits of Mrs Fotini Papadopoulou, President of the Cyprus Red Cross Society, and of his Eminence, the Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Kyrenia; a philatelic exhibition; and a joint photographic exhibition with the Embassy of Cyprus and the Embassy of Israel. Τhe Chair also organised a Cypriot Cultural Festival celebrating various aspects of Cypriot culture, from gastronomy to an art exhibition entitled Cyprus: Mosaic of History and Culture and the showing of Michael Cacoyannis’ most acclaimed films.
