Research towards the Publication of A Great Atlas of Greek Mythology

An original approach to Greek mythology through geography and ancient literary sources, The Mythological Atlas of Greece by Spanish Hellenist Pedro Olalla, first published in 2001, encompasses six years of intensive fieldwork and meticulous study of the ancient sources. This original work describes for the first time, in detail, all the Greek myths connected to their geographical settings: the Greek landscape. A bestseller in its class and a standard reference book, the Atlas was reprinted in Greek and translated into several languages, receiving awards and acclamations from the Academy of Athens and the Harvard University Center for Hellenic Studies. Fifteen years later, with the support of the A. G. Leventis Foundation, it will be revised in a new and extended edition, A Great Atlas of Greek Mythology, bringing the contents up to date and expanding the geographical framework to the broadest area of historical influence of Greek civilisation.
