ANIMA, care of injured wild animals

The Hellenic wildlife care association ANIMA is an environmental non-profit association mainly active in the field of wildlife care and rehabilitation. Thousands of wounded, orphaned and otherwise helpless wild animals are cared for, treated and released back to nature by ANIMA every year thanks to the support of organisations such as the A. G. Leventis Foundation. ANIMA collaborates with nature conservation agencies, cultural associations, humanitarian organisations, schools and other institutions. With an emphasis in the strengthening of the relationship between individuals and nature, ANIMA organizes outdoor activities and events in city parks for children and adults. The aim is to bring city dwellers in contact with the earth, the trees and the products of the land, as well as the revival and preservation of cultural traditions related to nature. ANIMA operates thanks to its volunteers, who support and complement the few but highly experienced members of permanent staff, with the additional support of the pro bono work by the experts that comprise its scientific committee.
