American Hellenic Institute Foundation student trip to Washington, Cyprus and Greece

The American Hellenic Institute Foundation foreign policy trip to Washington, DC, Cyprus and Greece offers ten Greek and Cypriot students from across the United States first-hand experience regarding the foreign policy issues affecting Cyprus and Greece, their relations with the United States, and the interests of the US in the eastern Mediterranean. Students are introduced to a wide range of opportunities, such as visits to American embassies, meetings with foreign ministry officials and members of parliament as well as briefings from the armed forces, prominent think tanks, and members of academia and the private sector of both countries. Each year features a unique event – these have included, over the years, a visit to the Turkish-occupied area in Cyprus, a day trip to Naval Support Activity (NSA) Souda Bay in Crete for a tour of NATO Missile Firing Installation (NAMFI) and a briefing by its commander, and a visit to NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre (NMIOTC).
